On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is my great honor and pleasure to welcome you to the 17^th World Implant Orthodontic Conference, to be held from Dec 7 to 9, 2026, in Taipei, Taiwan, in conjunction with the 39^th Annual Meeting of the Taiwanese Association of Orthodontists.

This conference brings together distinguished clinicians, researchers, educators, and industry leaders from around the world to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and explore the latest advancements in implant orthodontics. Taiwan is one of the pioneering countries in this field and is now proud to host this global gathering. We hope that, beyond the scientific sessions, you will enjoy the warmth of Taiwanese hospitality and take time to experience the culture, cuisine, and beauty of Taiwan, with the theme of ‘Orthotopia’

The conference will introduce the latest technology in the orthodontics including the present and future of the digital dentistry, artificial intelligence, and recent advances in the aligner biomechanics along with fundamental biomechanics using orthodontic implants. World Implant Orthodontic Association (WIOA) will also organize the presidential awards for many outstanding graduate students’ research presentations and clinical proposals. The WIOC is absolutely one of the most outstanding scientific congress that attracts most passionate orthodontists and researchers around the world.

Dear Distinguished Members and Colleagues,

On behalf of the Taiwan Association of Orthodontists (TAO), it is my great pleasure to cordially invite you to attend the 39th TAO Annual Meeting and the 17th World Implant Orthodontic Conference (WIOC), to be held from December 6–9, 2026, at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 2, Taipei, Taiwan.

The theme of this year's congress is “Orthotopia”—a fusion of Orthodontics and Utopia. It embodies our collective pursuit of an ideal orthodontic future through continuous inquiry, scientific validation, and innovation. By striving to achieve the optimal balance between scientific evidence and clinical practice, we move toward a more effective, realistic, and patient-centered standard of orthodontic care.

The scientific program promises to be both comprehensive and inspiring. On December 6, the pre-congress symposium, “Finding Oasis in OSAS Controversies,” will focus on the increasingly important topic of Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome (OSA/OSAS) and its ongoing clinical debates. On December 7, the program will feature the Orthodontic Residents’ Forum and a series of hands-on workshops, providing valuable opportunities for learning, interaction, and professional development for the next generation of orthodontists.

The main scientific sessions, scheduled for December 8–9, will bring together 46 internationally renowned speakers from 12 countries. Through lectures and discussions covering 14 key themes, including temporary anchorage devices (TADs), digital orthodontics, treatment strategies, interdisciplinary care, and emerging technologies, the congress will address many of the most relevant topics facing contemporary orthodontic practice.

In an era of rapid technological advancement, we hope that the insights and experiences shared by our distinguished speakers will help participants develop clearer clinical perspectives, critically evaluate diverse viewpoints, and transform knowledge into meaningful improvements in patient care.

The main theme of this year’s conference is “Orthotopia.”
The word “Orthotopia” comes from orthodontics and utopia. While utopia may be an unreachable perfection,ortho- means “to make things right.” In a world often masked by chaos, uncertainty and deception, we hope that at least in our profession, we can stand together—through honesty, collaboration, the pursuit of truth and evidence— we can create our own shelter.

This is our vision: A place not flawless, but sincere;not perfect, but powerful.An orthodontic utopia—our Orthotopia.
